Our Story
Our story starts with resilience — and a deep love for community.

When our founder, who has used a wheelchair since her twenties, learned that a long-standing organization serving women in wheelchairs was closing its doors, she felt a familiar mix of loss and determination. That space had been more than just a program — it was a lifeline, a place of laughter, understanding, and shared strength.

Rather than let that sense of belonging disappear, she and her daughter decided to bring it back to life. Together, they founded Women's World on Wheels — a new beginning built on the same spirit of connection, inclusion, and empowerment.

Over the past three years, Women's WOW has grown into a vibrant community offering camp and community-based programs created by and for women who use wheelchairs. From campfires to creative workshops, from heartfelt conversations to lifelong friendships, every experience we create is rooted in the belief that mobility should never limit possibility.
We’re more than a nonprofit — we’re a family of women lifting each other up, rolling forward together, and celebrating the strength that comes from shared stories and shared joy.

Our Mission
Women’s World On Wheels provides camp-based experiences that serve as building blocks for women wheelchair users, catalyzing growth in their physical, professional, and personal lives.

Our Vision
Women’s World On Wheels envisions a thriving network of empowered women wheelchair users, connected through a shared spirit of adventure, self-discovery, and growth. As our camp programs grow, so does our commitment to creating inclusive spaces that nurture independence, confidence, and community—guiding each woman toward her fullest potential.
